INVESTMENT ANALYST POSITION
Position Description & Duties
- Unique opportunity to work in a small group and invest in performing and distressed high yield bonds and loans
- The investment process at Johkim is well defined and will allow for new team members to rapidly learn about analyzing companies, balance sheets and credit agreements
- This position will allow individuals to participate in restructuring and learn about the bankruptcy process
- Duties will include
- Support senior members of the investment team and help generate new investment ideas
- Analyze new investments by filling out credit models and utilizing Johkim’s proprietary underwriting methodology
- Review credit agreements
- Interview industry experts and management teams
- Work with third-parties (lawyers, bankers, consultants) to refine investment thesis
- Monitor news, market information and industry publications
- Consolidate and manage the portfolio and associated risks
- Research and analyze macro trends in the high-yield and leveraged loan asset classes
Requirements
- 2-5+ years’ experience sell-side or buy-side (I-banking, PE, Hedge Fund, Consulting, Commercial Banking, Restructuring)
- Excellent academic credentials
- Experience with company financial statements and financial modelling
- Candidates must have strong analytical and communication skills and must be proficient in Excel

OPERATIONS & RISK ANALYST POSITION
Position Description & Duties
- Unique opportunity to work in a small group that is investing in performing and distressed high yield bonds and loans.
- Support CIO, CFO and Director of Operations in various capacities that will allow candidate to get a diverse view of the firm and build a long-term career at Johkim
- Operations Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting duties including tracking positions/securities (loans, bonds, and equities), researching and reconciling discrepancies between accounting systems and trade entry systems.
- Oversee loan closing process with outsourced settlement and custody team
- Calculated and track management fees, fund level expenses and performance allocation
- Work with administrator on generating monthly investor statement
- Risk Responsibilities
- Support daily trading activities
- Maintain shadow P&L and enter trades into Prime Brokers systems
- Generate weekly risk report and work with CIO on tracking overall risk metrics
- At month end, prepare monthly tear sheet sent to investors
Requirements
- Bachelors (or higher) degree in accounting or finance
- 2+ years of operations experience at a credit investment firm, commercial bank, fund administrator or accounting firm
- Willing to be flexible and help out as needed in a fast-pace environment where the role is constantly evolving
- Looking to take on more responsibility and grow with the firm
- Excellent academic credentials
- Candidates must have strong analytical and communication skills and must be highly proficient in Excel and VBA/macros
